The Key to my Heart

The key to my heart is obviously food, but I love scrapbooking too! Over the weekend, I went to a 3-day crop right here is Las Vegas. I love having the feeling of getting away and still being able to sleep in my own bed. I also like the option of being able to do a load of laundry before heading out for the day. I didn’t actually do that, but it was a nice thought!

The scrapbook world has changed so much over the past few years. Many people are scrapbooking digitally and no longer need supplies. This has led to most of the scrapbook stores closing due to lack of business. Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, and Joann’s will always have scrapbook supplies. It’s not the same, but it’s better than nothing!

In the old days, we used to create our own pages using our imaginations. Then, page kits were invented and took all of our imaginations to a whole new (and expensive) level. I was resistant of these kits at first. I worried that my kids would look through their albums and judge me for not creating the pages myself. I got over that worry real quick when I figured out how easy these kits would make my life! My kids could care less about the cute title or what color paper is used. They just like to look at the pictures and relive the events in their albums (imagine that!).

Something new about this weekend was the make and takes offered by the owner. She put so much time into prepping the materials needed to make the items in the picture below. This was my favorite addition to the crop! These are the cutest projects and will make quick and easy gifts. I can’t wait for the next crop in February!
